FPPD Cop of the Month

The Floral Park Police Department instituted the Cop of the Month program in 2010. It has been established to honor those police officers who are deserving of recognition for an outstanding arrest or for taking initiative in some area of police work. The department realizes the importance and the responsibility of conveying a message to these officers that their hard work has not gone unnoticed, and the importance for their families, as well as the community to understand what exactly it is that they do.

At their meeting held Dec. 7, 2010, Mayor Greene and the Board of Trustees presented the first "Cop of the Month" Awards to officers Stephan Drenckhahn and Robert Hayes for outstanding police work in the apprehension of a graffiti artist and a potential predator, two of six arrests made by these officers during the month of October.
